If you own a restaurant, a pub, or a hotel, an important part of your income will come from alcohol sales. In order to sell alcohol, most establishments integrate operate a bar into their business model. Of course this means that if you have a bar, at some point you’re going to have to spend some money on barware.

There are essentially three categories of bar equipment, m and you will need to cover them all in order to run a decent bar. The first category: hardware. This includes all things mechanical, from your soda gun to your beer tap system to your ice machine. Glassware: this is naturally the second category, without which drinks would be impossible to serve.

The third category, although it might not seem like it at first, is hands down the most important category. Because this third category is neglected as often as it is, it is often the one where restaurant owners make their biggest mistakes. This category is barware.

Barware is essentially a broad term the industry uses to classify all the essential extras bartenders need in order to mix and make cocktails. Everything from zesting tools to bottle openers to cork screws to cocktail shakers is lumped into in this category. Irregardless of how adept your bartenders are, no matter how top shelf the quality of your spirits are, you run the risk of disappointing your customers if you purchase inefficient barware for your restaurant. In order to avoid making any mistakes, here are a few basic rules you should follow.

It is wisest to use an insulated cocktail shaker because the icier your cocktails are when you serve them, the more they will be appreciated. If you have a metal shaker, especially one that fits together with a pint glass, make sure you also get a cocktail strainer of some sort. A zesting tool is an essential for peeling citrus twist garnishes, but your better bet is a standard channel knife. Nothing is more unappetizing to your customers than having pick out bits of cork from their wine, so purchase a wine opener you can trust. If you can find a wall-mounted bottle opener, buy it. You’re probably going to lose the standard kind. Portion control is everything in a restaurant as over pouring can result in huge losses. Make sure you have a couple double jiggers or spirit measures around.

Affiliate marketing resembles a consignment store. Your website promotes merchandise and for your effort, you receive a cut from every transaction. There’s less work, very low operating costs, it works while you sleep, and even better, it is comparatively easy to learn. First off, you must determine what items or market most suits your business style. To get this out of the way, you need to find out solutions to problems a specific group of individuals are anticipating, and then discover a way to resolve those problems. One of the better means to determine this is to find unique extremely drilled down longtail keywords and phrases; generally customers search for these less, but they convert far more.

These important keywords can be found by using applications such as Micro Niche Finder.
Construction of a web site is next; but you still have a couple of fundamental things to do. Getting a great performance on web based search engines involves the fine-tuning of your web site. Programs such as SEO Elite should make this easy. This computer program examines the web sites of the competition and helps you by stating exactly what you need to do in order to have a good placing in the search engine listings.

Sell With an Attitude

When selling a product or giving a sales presentation, you always want to convey a positive, upbeat attitude at all times. This will send a crystal clear message to your audience that you believe in the product you sell, and that they should also.

It is rare that you come across a person in sales that is down on his luck, moping around with his head down, and feeling sorry for himself. This person is definitely in the wrong business.

Attitude is everything in sales, from the gleam in your eye, right down to the polished shoes on your feet.

Have you ever heard the expression “smile, it’s contagious?” well it’s true, your smile is contagious, so smile when you greet your customer, they most definitely will return the gesture.

Imagine someone trying to sell you something without ever looking you in the eye, or shaking your hand upon meting you. This would be an indication to most people that the person selling the product does not believe in, or care about their product. Imagine asking them questions and being left with blank stares and empty answers. You will most likely not be doing business with this person.

The above example would be a description of someone “not” selling with an attitude.

When I say “sell with an attitude,” I don’t mean that you have to go out and buy a T-shirt that says “I have an attitude.”

An attitude can be many things, but in sales you want it to be positive. It can be nice, or laid back. You don’t have to be loud and boisterous. It is not necessary to give two handed political hand shakes, or go around back slapping to sell your products.

The ingredients to selling with an attitude are at your fingertips. In fact you were born with them.

All you need is a smile, confidence in yourself and your product, the ability to look people in the eye, and product knowledge.

Also, appearance can speak volumes about your attitude as well. So make sure you look the part. If people think that you don’t have the ability to take care of yourself, they will also think that you don’t have the ability to take care of them.

So sell with an attitude. Smile, be happy, put a spring in your step. Let the world now that you are here to sell, and that you love what you do. Remember, the better your attitude, the better your sales results will be.
